A decade of paper vases, brass bookmarks and Mediterranean obsession. Ten years, and what we've learned.
OCTAEVO: 10 YEARS, 10 ARTISTS, 10 INTERPRETATIONS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN.
To celebrate a decade of creative exploration, OCTAEVO invited ten artists to reinterpret the essence of the Mediterranean through its iconic Paper Vase. Each work represented a fragment of this territory, a personal reading of a shared culture. The exhibition event was curated by Partida Continua and held at La Culture House.
The Mediterranean is color: a vibrant palette that captures the reflections of the sun on the water, the warmth of the sand and stone, the light that transforms every surface. It is history and mythology, it is narratives that have traveled through the centuries, with forms and symbols that reappear in ceramics, ruins, fabrics. And it is, above all, a way of looking, a sensibility marked by curiosity, joy and fascination with the beauty of the everyday.
The pieces, arranged in a play of shapes and perspectives, built a sensory map of the region in which materials, textures and colors evoke energy and calm. A Mediterranean narrated through design, visual poetry and contemporary craftsmanship. An invitation to inhabit this in-between space, to walk through it with gaze and touch, to discover in each work a new geography of this sea.
